Australia trip 2018, Part 4

Hello, today’s story will have pictures taken in NT state

This is the area called Devil’s Marble. The stones are piled up in strange shapes. I was very impressed with this fantastic place. I will explain more about this in my video.

So this is my travel story chapter 4. NT was very different from travelling to Adelaide or Sydney. I saw dozens of eagles flying above my head, no trees and lots of sandy dust. This place could feel dry and boring, but I have an exciting trip here. Thanks for reading and I will come back with more interesting stories next time.

This picture is not clear to see. The people in the area allowed me to take photos of them. After taking pictures, the guy in the middle asked me ‘Are you from HongKong?’ and I said ‘I’m from Korea’. He was looking at me like ‘ What country is that?’

It is a rat trap, and it says ‘For any complaints, please press the red button’. I think this is Australian humour.

There can be many safety issues in Northern Territory. In other states, I was not worried even when camping in a park in a town because there are not much security problems. When I asked If I could camp in the park, local people told me not to do in NT. Drunken Aboriginal people can come to interrupt me. So, If the camping in the town is too expensive, I ride my bicycle and go out 5~10km outside of the town and bush camp alone where other people can’t see me

The next day I stopped in a place where the road trains could come to rest on the side of the road. I asked someone to take a picture of me. When I travel alone, the composition of the photo is straightforward and sometimes it's not funny. My picture looks better when taken by other people

There are a lot of free camping grounds in NT. In other states, the free camping ground was not easy to find. I enjoy sleeping alone in the bush but sometimes its good to have a company around me.

I think the most significant advantage of camping with other people is that I can join the campfire especially when the temperature goes below 5. The older girl in the picture listened to my travel stories and said she would travel the same way as me. I was happy to see this little girl enjoyed listening to my story

Now I see the rocky mountains that show the distinctive colour of  NT.

The greatest disaster in a dry and hot area should be the fire. On the road, there is always a sign that you must be careful of the bushfire. I often saw the burnt place like in the pictures. NT lacks water, so once the area has been burned like this, it will take a long time to recover

It was a long and hard journey, but eventually, I arrived at Alice Springs. Unfortunately, this is only one picture I took at Alice Springs. I went to the town with my camera to take a picture, but the Aboriginal people were aggressive toward to me. They shouted and screamed that they are not monkeys. I did not even take a picture of them at all, but they thought I was taking a picture of Aboriginal people. So I did not take photos at Alice Springs.

This is my first-night photo. It is amazing how people take good night pictures. I did not have good photographic skills and my picture could not even make 1 per cent of real night view.

I met another bike traveller and we took a picture together. We did not talk much because this guys was from Spain and could not speak English but we had a short, glad moment.

I had the first flat tyre during the trip. I have had fixed my flat tyre before but not during the trip. I originally planned to ride extra one hour but after fixing my flat tyre. It was already 4 o’clock. The place where I fixed my bicycle was a free camping place, so I just camped there. Then the old man in the photo came to me with interest about my trip. He let me do the cooking and use his kitchen.

This is the roadhouse in Barrow Creek. I just went inside to have a short break, and the wall of this place was covered by pictures of other tourists.

A cool place to visit on the way to Darwin.

When I ride my bicycle few Kilometres on the road, and there is hardly a shadow. So If I see a tree that makes a shadow like this, then I have a short break.

I want to the pub on the side of the road to eat something heavy and greasy after eating can tuna, boiled egg and oatmeal for few days. So I went to the Pub to see the menu and Wedge was the lowest price of $ 9.50. I thought it was a reasonable price. It was massive and so delicious. Calories from wedge helped me to ride few kilometres more

Can see brown things in the picture? They are all termite houses. I have seen a lot of them while travelling on NT, but I have never seen such a big crowd

I eat simple lunch always. I think I am getting more and more skills in making a simple meal on the road. This time I put oatmeal in the cup mixed with water.
